Your clients want to hear from you!

Hey Reader,

One of the things that comes up consistently when I am wearing my coach hat and coaching women business owners through their first stages of building and growing is marketing.

Specifically, how to do more of it & how to do it better.

And almost every single one of them starts talking about social media.

More posts.
Better reels.
A consistent TikTok schedule.
The whole thing.

But here's what I tell them, and I want to tell you too 🗣️ social media is a great way to get people to notice you. But it is not where relationships are built. It is not where trust is deepened. And it is definitely not where the sale happens (although they can).

You know where all of that happens?

The inbox.

Think about the people who have already bought from you...

They handed you their money and their trust. And if you are not staying in their inbox regularly (and you can define what regularly is), you are leaving the relationship on the table.

They might love what you did for them and still forget to refer you, forget to come back, forget you exist. And not because they stopped caring, but because life happened and you were not there to remind them you are still showing up.

And it is not just your existing clients.

Every person who lands on your website and is not quite ready to buy? That is a warm lead.

If you give them a reason to join your email list (a discount, a free resource, something that is actually useful to them), you now have a way to continue the conversation until they are ready.

Social media should do one job... usher people to your home.
To your website.
To your email list.

That is where you build the relationship. That is where the real marketing happens.

Now, I hear you. "TaKenya, I don't even know where to start with email marketing."

Okay, so let's talk about that for a second.

If you are a beginner, or if you have been avoiding this because the tech feels like too much, MailerLite is the platform I point people to first.

It is clean, straightforward, and affordable, and it does not require a tech background to figure it out.

And right now they are running a promotion where new customers and current free plan users can get 50% off their first month on the Comfort or Power plan. Just use the code GOLITE50 at checkout.

There is genuinely no better time to get started than right now, heading into Q4.

The fourth quarter is the most active marketing season of the year!

And the businesses that already have an email list and a rhythm? They are going to reap the rewards of it.

One more thing

If you saw last week's email about the sliding scale website offer and you are still on the fence, there are still a few spots open. A website that works for you will make everything I just talked about so much easier. If you want in, let me know here, and we can see if it's a good fit.

Okay. Go start building that email list. And if you have questions about any of it, let me know!

Hey Reader, There seems to be a lot of acquisitions, mergers, and buyouts in the tech space, especially in the last few years. A couple of weeks ago, I got an email from Loom letting me know they were being absorbed into their parent company's platform. Then... a few days later, another email landed in my inbox, and yep, it was a price increase notification. There's a lot of that going on too... Now, I've been using Loom for over five years. And for me, it's comfortable. It's familiar. But...

Hey Reader! I hope this email finds you soaking up the last little bit of summer. As it is winding down for me and getting really real that it's pretty much over since my kid started school back today, I am shifting out of summer mode. 😢 As I sat down to write this week's email, I thought about how I see people online all the time saying they wish they had more business friends. People they could ask questions, bounce ideas off of, or send a quick “Okay, but how do I actually do this?”...

Hey Hey Reader 👋🏽, This week I found myself doing something I tell my clients to do all the time but had not revisited in a while for my own business. I was updating my Google Business Profile (or GBP). I serve clients all over the US, and I love that. But I have been making a more intentional effort lately to show up for potential clients right here in my local area. The ones who are searching for someone nearby, someone they can feel connected to, even if we never meet in person. And...
