You know you can ask me, right?

Hey Reader!

I hope this email finds you soaking up the last little bit of summer.

As it is winding down for me and getting really real that it's pretty much over since my kid started school back today, I am shifting out of summer mode. 😢

As I sat down to write this week's email, I thought about how I see people online all the time saying they wish they had more business friends.

People they could ask questions, bounce ideas off of, or send a quick “Okay, but how do I actually do this?” message to.

And yet... here I am.

You have me. Ready. Willing. And actually looking forward to your questions.

So I want to remind you to use me as a resource for your growing business.

As summer winds down, I’m getting back into planning mode over here in the studio. As I think about what the next few months look like, I want to make sure I’m spending time helping with the things that are actually useful to the people in my corner of the interwebs.

That means I want to know what’s been tripping you up lately.

➡ Maybe there’s something with your website you’ve been meaning to figure out.

➡ Maybe you keep hearing about a tool and you’re wondering if you actually need it.

➡ Maybe you know there has to be an easier way to do something in your business, but you don’t know what that easier way is.

➡ Maybe WordPress is WordPressing 🙃

➡ Or maybe you have one of those questions that feels too small to book a call for, but you’d still really like someone who knows this stuff to answer it.

Ask me!

Websites. WordPress. Plugins. Email marketing. Business systems. Automations. Tools. Tech stuff you don’t understand and aren’t even sure how to explain.

And don’t worry about making it sound polished or “smart enough.” Give it to me exactly how you’d ask a business friend:

“Why does this keep happening?”

“Do I really need this?”

“Is there an easier way to do this?”

“What would you use for ___?”

“TaKenya, help.” 😂

That’s what your tech bestie is here for.

Just hit reply to this email and send me your question. Yep, it comes straight to me, and yep, I really do want to hear it.

Or if you’d prefer to submit it through a form, you can send your question here.

Either way, send it my way. If it’s something I can help you understand, figure out, or make a little less frustrating, I want to know about it.

I hope you have a productive rest of your week!

Hey Reader, There seems to be a lot of acquisitions, mergers, and buyouts in the tech space, especially in the last few years. A couple of weeks ago, I got an email from Loom letting me know they were being absorbed into their parent company's platform. Then... a few days later, another email landed in my inbox, and yep, it was a price increase notification. There's a lot of that going on too... Now, I've been using Loom for over five years. And for me, it's comfortable. It's familiar. But...

Hey Hey Reader 👋🏽, This week I found myself doing something I tell my clients to do all the time but had not revisited in a while for my own business. I was updating my Google Business Profile (or GBP). I serve clients all over the US, and I love that. But I have been making a more intentional effort lately to show up for potential clients right here in my local area. The ones who are searching for someone nearby, someone they can feel connected to, even if we never meet in person. And...

Email Marketing Myths

Hey Reader, This is not meant to scare you. I promise. However, I want to talk about something that doesn't get nearly enough attention in the "so you have a WordPress site" conversation. Plugin vulnerabilities. If you are not interested in WordPress updates, you can update your preferences to personalize the content you wish to receive at the bottom of this email. I know this may sound scary. It's not. I want to start by saying this: WordPress is still one of the best decisions you can make...
