This week feels heavy. Here’s one thing that might help.

Hey Reader,

This week feels heavy for many of us...

Whether you’ve been tuned in to everything happening or doing your best to protect your peace, it’s completely understandable if your energy or focus just isn’t where it normally is.

I don’t believe in pretending everything is business as usual when it’s clearly not.

Instead, I want to offer something that might actually help.

When You Don’t Have the Mental Energy for Tech

Decision fatigue is real, especially when life feels like a lot.

So here’s your reminder: you don’t have to pretend to have it all together. That doesn’t make you less of a business owner. It makes your business more human.

If you’re in a season where showing up fully feels hard, one thing you can do to stay present and protect your peace is set up an auto-reply on your email to help manage communication.

Here are two simple examples you can use or adapt:

Option 1:
Hi there, I'm moving a little slower than usual this week. You can expect a response within [X] business days. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Option 2:
Hi and thanks for your message. I'm taking some intentional mental health time this week, so responses may be delayed. If you need immediate assistance, please reach out here: [insert instructions or alternate contact].

Setting boundaries like these is a quiet way of caring for yourself and your clients at the same time.

And if your brain is feeling full of ideas, half-finished plans, or things you just can’t seem to move forward on, trust that you’re not the only one.

Need a Thought Partner?

Lately, I’ve been doing more coaching and strategy calls with business owners who need a sounding board to work through a stuck point, sort out an idea, or get clear on what’s next.

If that sounds like something you need, we can sit down (virtually, although if you are local, we can make it happen in person) and map things out together.

Book a strategy call if you’re ready to get some clarity and momentum.

Wherever you are this week, give yourself permission to move slower.

To protect your energy.

To simplify.

You don’t have to carry it all alone, and you’re doing more than enough.

This REEL has been living rent free in my head as someone diagnosed with ADHD, and sometimes all over the place. And I want you to know that, "Reader, you doing a good job!"

P.S. You really are, but you won't get it if you don't watch the REEL. So click the link and laugh for a minute - with me or at me. I'm fine either way...LOL

Paperbell CRM Review

Hey Reader, I reviewed Paperbell CRM back in 2023... I called it "nice, but basic" at the time. I just spent time with their 2025 platform and honestly? They've transformed into something pretty impressive while keeping the simplicity that coaches actually want and need. Here's what caught my attention: They added a website builder specifically designed for coaches. Not some generic page builder with 47 templates you'll never use - but clean, professional layouts that actually convert...

Hey Reader, The 4th of July is coming up, and like clockwork, here comes the red, white, and blue... and the tension. As a Black woman, I’ve always had a complicated relationship with this holiday. While the country celebrates “freedom,” I’m reminded that July 4, 1776 wasn’t our Independence Day. We weren’t free. Not then, and not entirely now. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned from being a business owner, it’s this: Freedom isn’t about fireworks and flag waving. Freedom is about...
